![]() ![]() I personally think if you are serious about learning guitar, then timing is pretty much the single most important factor. Others will have their own, there is no one way to approach an instrument. Ill preface this by saying its my own personal opinion. Many musicians consider that tab is stupid (not me I love it) so that might put the orientation issue in perspective. Your opinion on which one is better is still just your opinion. RS offers the choice of tab orientation or inversion. The RS cable works fine as an ASIO input with asio4all. All the generic guitar to usb cables are mostly the same. The RS cable is pretty much the same chip and cable as the others that you are comparing it to. It makes perfect sense if you've ever had to support widely different hardware on different platforms. They provide the cable to streamline their support. I still have working guitar leads that are over ten years old. Works perfectly, but I know how to treat cables. I've got about 50 hours on RS2014 so far. I had some sound issues in the first week but it's been way solid since then. I have zero problems with bugs, apart from having to turn the cable gain up. I really am surprised that such a buggy game got past QC at sony and MS. So really, I hope the devs step up the game and start bug-fixing or I am bailing out on the game as soon as there's a better alternative. The RealTone cable on the other hand seems to be of a shoddy build and costs more than equivalent stuff would. They can use whatever they like, but the DualShock ones tend to by of a good quality so a lot of people don't bother. No-one is required to buy PlayStation DualShock controllers for the ps3. The cable is proprietary hardware and no different than controllers. I hope they step up their game before someone makes a rip-off that's better. The game is buggy as fuck and still has a lot of poor design decisions(mirrored strings as default instead of tab? It's nearly like they're trying to make it hard for beginners so they never decide to try to learn from tabs.) That being said, it's a great idea with a mediocre implementation. I bought the game with the cable and all. Rocksmith Note Guide (aka what is this symbol?) See how you Rank Worldwide with Rocksmith Buddy! Rocksmith+ is a follow-up to the original Rocksmith franchise, with a major change to a subscription-based music education service. It dynamically adjusts the difficulty to your skill level, then slowly introduces more notes and phrases until you’re playing your favorite songs note-for-note. I double checked and both games work with the guitars as expected now.Rocksmith is a music video game series which aims to teach guitar by letting you plug in virtually any guitar or bass and becomes your personal guitar teacher as it monitors how you play. I just went back in and I found that the Rocksmith Cable level was reset to 17. Note my other two settings were LatencyBuffer=4 and MaxOutputBufferSize=0. That alone appears to make the tuning go from +999 (and wacky swings with muddled/distorted sounds) to being able to tune the guitar to standard. ![]() ![]() I tested this and it did not work.ģ) Then I rolled back the changes to only Win32UltraLowLatencyMode=0. I used notepad and saved the INI to a text file I called Rocksmith (Original).txtġ) I followed custompunk's tip and set my Rocksmith cable level to 80 (no effect)Ģ) Then per Korky I changed Win32UltraLowLatencyMode=0, LatencyBuffer=0 and MaxOutputBufferSize=256. ![]() Here is what I did and tuning started to work.Ġ) First backup your Rocksmith.ini file to make sure you have the original settings. I am sure many users will have to tweak their system individually. When I used windows sound recorder it sounds clear and normal so does that mean the cable is ok? I can't adjust audio options in game without passing this damn tutorial.Ĭustompunk and Korky - thanks a million - you're my heroes for the day!!!! adjusted the sound quality in the sound manager for the cable and headphones given audio priorty to the cable and my headphones made sure the jack was all the way into the guitars I've got the rocksmith USB cable detected and drivers successfully installed I can't even tune the thing in game, all the values on the tuner stay at like +999 and it sounds horrible. I am so excited to play the game but I have exhausted myself trying to get it to work! Just thought I'd let people know in case someone else has the issue. ![]()
