I'm curious to know how you manage you folders. Note: Lightroom Classic only catalogs images and videos, pdfs are not included in the solution.įeel free to msg me if you want more specifics. You definitely want a naming convention but I suspect you already have one. The only downside is I have thousands of folders in my cloud drive, one for each asset. I use Google Drive and have found Lightroom Classic invaluable. However, since Lightroom works with the MacOS file structure (and any traditional folder structure) it's not hard to use the Dropbox or the native OS tools for finding images. I've tried to incorporate Lightroom app into the mix and have never found it useful. Unfortunately the Lightroom app that you envision using on your iPad does not use the file structure in Adobe's proprietary cloud storage. Lightroom Classic will definitely meet your requirement of using the file structure in Drop Box (or any other cloud storage). That's good to know, I watched a good overview video of Eagle Digital Asset Management. Doesn't have to be free, although I don't necessarily want to spend a ton of money. I'm grateful for any suggestions that would help me work with my images on both Mac and iPad. I've tried Luminar Neo - which isn't primarily meant for this sort of thing but does what I need it to do - since it's part of Setapp, but that seems to have some stability issues and is quite slow. Also, I know there's Tropy but I've always found it too cumbersome to handle my 60,000-image library. Apple Photos would be the obvious choice, but quite apart from the fact that I want to keep my professional and personal image libraries apart, it doesn't allow for a folder structure that I can work with. So for now, I'm looking for an alternative that at least allows me to do that. But alas, the files are all stored in a library which I can't use on my iPad. That wouldn't be so bad if Eagle was able to simply use a file structure that would allow me to access my images via Dropbox. Recently, I've started integrating an iPad Pro into my workflow, but there is no iPad version of Eagle. I use it to manage a research photo library in my work as a historian, to store portraits, historical photos, archive material, and much more. I've been a satisfied user of Eagle for a number of years now.
